In response to the steep rise of Orange County property tax valuations, the Town of Carrboro has allocated $45,000 to provide property tax assistance to eligible Carrboro residents facing difficulty paying their tax bill.
The Town had partnered with Orange County to provide this assistance through the County’s Longtime Homeowners Assistance (LHA) program. Carrboro residents must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Own home for five (5) or more years
- Require financial assistance to pay the property tax
- Meet income and other eligibility requirements.
